I want to invite everyone to come to the next Woodmere Neighborhood Association (WNA) General Meeting on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 6:30PM at the Museum of Fine Arts Auditorium. Jessie Donaldson, WNA 1st Vice President, will submit a list of nominees for new officers for 2014 to be elected at this meeting. If you are interested in running for an office, please let us know. We will have Mac Mcleod, Director of Business &
Commercial Development, City of Montgomery, as our guest speaker. He will be speaking on possible future changes for East Montgomery, the Eastern Boulevard and the Woodmere area. It is imperative that we keep Woodmere Boulevard and Carmichael Road attractive, litter- free and crime- free to preserve our neighborhood. Also, it is time for everyone to renew their membership dues for the 2014 year. Whether you own or rent, invest
$25 into your association. Show that you are behind the WNA and support the board that looks after your best interest each and every day. Fill out the application at the back of this newsletter and mail back today.
I would encourage everyone to help with the litter problem in Woodmere. It is an everyday occurrence. All of us working together to pick up in and around our homes will help to keep this under control. Also, pick up trash at common areas near your home where there are not neighbors to do so. Litter can lead to the “broken window” effect: more litter, dumping of rubbish, graffiti and vandalism. See everyone on the 7th of November.
